Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Outstanding service A*****
The process was very straightforward, the vehicle was collected on the day agreed - I received a call when the driver was 30 minutes away. The driver 'Darren' was knowledgeable and a complete professional. All inspections carried out, documents sorted and on his pick up in under 30 minutes. The money was processed to my bank very shortly after. Will definitely recommend and would not hesitate using your company again.

A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

Scrap my car in Bishop Auckland FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Bishop Auckland?
Dropdown Icon

The average price for scrap cars in Bishop Auckland is £247. Prices depend on weight, condition, make and model, current scrap metal prices, and whether the vehicle has usable parts for salvage rather than just for scrap. Check out live scrap car prices online for an exact figure.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Bishop Auckland?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for the collection of your scrap car in Bishop Auckland. Another person over the age of 18 can meet the driver on your behalf, they'll just need access to the vehicle, all the required documents, and the keys (if available).

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. You'll need alternative paperwork like photo ID, proof of address, and supporting documents like MOT certificates or service history. A missing logbook will likely make the scrapping process take slightly longer while ownership details are checked.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can keep your private number plate when you scrap the vehicle it's attached to in Bishop Auckland. You'll need to go through the "retain my reg" process by applying on the DVLA website or filling out a V317 form. The plate must be removed before a Certificate of Destruction can be issued.

Do you accept commercial vehicles in Bishop Auckland?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we accept vans and light commercial vehicles in Bishop Auckland, including panel vans, pick-ups, and minibuses. The quote process is the same as for any other vehicle; just enter your registration number and postcode. Many vans return higher prices than cars because their larger kerb weight usually means more recyclable scrap metal. Keep in mind that low bridges, such as the Newton Cap Bridge, can affect recovery of larger vehicles.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Bishop Auckland?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your car's V5C logbook to scrap it in Bishop Auckland, as well as photo ID and proof of address. Missing paperwork won't necessarily prevent a sale, and if your V5C isn't available, we'll explain the alternative documents that are accepted and guide you through the forms so everything stays compliant.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request a Certificate of Destruction, you'll be issued one within 7 days of processing. Car.co.uk notifies the DVLA automatically, and the CoD removes you from the DVLA register, ending further responsibility for the vehicle.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, you'll need to settle any outstanding finance before scrapping, or the finance company must give their consent. Legal ownership is likely still with the lender, so the next step is to contact them for a settlement figure or written permission before booking collection.

Can I scrap a car with no MOT in Bishop Auckland?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, a vehicle with no MOT can still be scrapped in Bishop Auckland. MOT status won't affect the price or prevent collection. The vehicle just needs to be accessible for recovery. Many owners scrap older cars after MOT failures linked to winter cold and wet conditions.

How long does it take to scrap my car in Bishop Auckland?
Dropdown Icon

Same-day or next-day collection is usually available in Bishop Auckland. Getting a quote online takes under 30 seconds, then you choose a suitable collection slot during booking. Payment by bank transfer is triggered on collection. Keep in mind that busy routes around the A688 and A689 can affect recovery timing, and CoD paperwork is usually issued within 7 days on request.
