With your help, we support a range of charities and community projects around the UK.
You perhaps don’t connect training programmes, food banks, and supported living homes with the motor industry – but at Car.co.uk, these things are closely linked.
As we grow, so does our commitment to creating social value – a unique way of doing business that sees us provide financial backing for a range of charitable organisations; each offering support to real people and communities around the country.
When you use our helpful tools, part of the revenue you help us to generate will go towards funding a huge range of social value projects. One of our partner charities operates the UK’s largest food redistribution network – making sure no good food goes to waste.
Another of our partner charities creates and runs adult training programmes for people currently in prison – helping them to move away from crime upon release and bringing reoffending rates down around the country as a result.
Although the people who are directly supported by our partner charities obviously see a life-changing benefit, the impact of our partners’ work spreads much further.
It’s no secret that local authorities often simply do not have the resources to meet everyone’s need adequately – but our social value programme helps to ease the financial strain that’s put on taxpayer-funded services.
To date, the organisations we work with have created over £17 million in savings for social housing services, the benefits system, and the NHS; a real difference that can be felt by every UK taxpayer.
Real people and real numbers
Last year, our food redistribution partner provided over 945,000 meals for a range of good causes – from breakfast clubs and community cafes to hospices and food banks.
To date, Car.co.uk’s financial support has helped to establish 11 HMP Academies – with 84% of participants going on to finding meaningful paid employment after release.
Across one year, each individual who moved on from our partner’s supported living home obtained at least 8 vocational qualifications and completed 85 hours of work-based training.
With your help, we’re proud to make a measurable difference to real peoples’ lives.
