Highly recommend - 10/10 service
Whole process was really easy and completely fuss free from start to finish. Entered my postcode and registration online and was given a price straight away without having to sign up to anything. The price offered was better than anywhere else. Selected a date and time that suited me for collection and booked in a matter of minutes. Really clear information was given about the collection process via email. Collection day arrived and the guy who came was really friendly. Quick check of the car, loaded onto the truck and received the money within minutes. I would highly recommend this company as it was so easy, no hidden terms and conditions and an all round great experience.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Great service
I recently had my old car collected and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish, everything was handled smoothly and I was kept informed throughout the whole process. The driver, Roy, was excellent – really friendly, professional, and informative, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The payment was transferred instantly upon collection, which was a huge plus. Overall, a fantastic service and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to scrap their car.

We received a very competitive quote…
We received a very competitive quote from Car.co.uk for my car and from the start they were very efficient with their quote which was easy to understand. After accepting their quote they kept me fully informed of the procedure and made it clear and simple. We agreed a collection date and they arrived on time with two polite and helpful driver and assistant and they loaded my car and left very quickly. The agreed price was paid by Car.co.uk and the money was in my Bank before the driver left. I would highly recommend this Company.

Missing components and demand for reusable parts can also change the result. Enter your registration and postcode to see the price for your scrap, compare current scrap car prices and decide whether the offer suits you.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Spennymoor?
Dropdown Icon

No, you do not need to be present when we collect your car in Spennymoor. You can nominate an adult aged 18 or over, provided they have access to the vehicle, photo ID, keys if available and the agreed paperwork. Tell us beforehand so collection can proceed smoothly.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. You will need photo ID, proof of address and evidence connecting you to the vehicle, such as an MOT certificate, purchase receipt or service record. Ownership checks may take slightly longer before collection is confirmed.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you do not need to provide keys for your car. Missing keys are common and will not stop collection or alter the agreed quote. Recovery teams can use specialist loading equipment, while the vehicle’s condition, completeness and weight remain the main valuation factors.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Spennymoor?

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, outstanding finance must be settled before the vehicle is scrapped unless the lender provides written consent. The finance company retains a legal interest, so contact it and check the agreement first. Once the balance is cleared or permission is provided, collection can be arranged.

Can I scrap a SORN vehicle in Spennymoor?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a SORN vehicle in Spennymoor. It does not need tax or insurance for collection, but it must remain off the public road and be accessible to the recovery vehicle. Do I need to notify the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, Car.co.uk handles the DVLA notification through the Certificate of Destruction process when the vehicle is eligible. You provide the required V5C logbook details, and the final update removes you from the official record so future responsibility ends.
