First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

Highly recommend - 10/10 service
Whole process was really easy and completely fuss free from start to finish. Entered my postcode and registration online and was given a price straight away without having to sign up to anything. The price offered was better than anywhere else. Selected a date and time that suited me for collection and booked in a matter of minutes. Really clear information was given about the collection process via email. Collection day arrived and the guy who came was really friendly. Quick check of the car, loaded onto the truck and received the money within minutes. I would highly recommend this company as it was so easy, no hidden terms and conditions and an all round great experience.

Very easy transaction.
Very easy transaction. Easy to book, collection person phoned to say exactly what time they were arriving. I just left him to it and collection took around 10 mins including taking photos of my id and the car. Sad to see my car go as its been a really good car but too much wrong with it now. Payment was not immediate, took around an hour and a half. No fuss, no sweat, very easy.

Outstanding service A*****
The process was very straightforward, the vehicle was collected on the day agreed - I received a call when the driver was 30 minutes away. The driver 'Darren' was knowledgeable and a complete professional. All inspections carried out, documents sorted and on his pick up in under 30 minutes. The money was processed to my bank very shortly after. Will definitely recommend and would not hesitate using your company again.

Scrap my car in Lutterworth FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Lutterworth?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Lutterworth for a scrap car is £264, although the final amount depends on factors including weight, condition, make, model, current metal prices, and whether the vehicle has more value through salvage than recycling. To find your current scrap car value, enter your registration and postcode for a quote in under 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Lutterworth?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for the collection of your scrap car in Lutterworth. If you're out around places such as Bitteswell, Gilmorton or nearby attractions including the Lutterworth Museum, you can nominate another adult aged 18 or over to meet the driver, as long as they have access to the vehicle and the required paperwork or identification.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook in many cases. We'll usually ask for photo ID, proof of address, and any supporting paperwork such as MOT certificates or service history to help verify ownership. The checks may take a little longer, but missing the logbook does not always prevent collection and payment.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can keep your private number plate, but you must arrange retention or transfer through the DVLA before scrapping the vehicle. You can apply online or use a V317 form, and the registration needs to be removed before a Certificate of Destruction is issued. As the best place to scrap your car in Lutterworth, Car.co.uk will help as much as we can with paperwork and documentation.

How do I avoid scrap car scams in Lutterworth?
Dropdown Icon

Scrap car scams can happen in Lutterworth, so it's important to avoid cash-in-hand offers, unlicensed collectors, and companies that reduce prices at the point of collection. Legitimate payments are made by bank transfer under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, and Car.co.uk provides a safer option with a 4.9/5 Trustpilot rating from 15,000+ reviews and a Certificate of Destruction available on request. You can read more here in our guide.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Lutterworth?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C log book to scrap your car in Lutterworth, along with photo ID and proof of address. Having your V5C logbook ready can help speed things up, but if it's missing, you can still often proceed and we'll explain exactly what's needed before our car recycling services arrive so everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can request a Certificate of Destruction, which is usually provided within 7 days of processing. Car.co.uk manages the DVLA notification automatically, and once the CoD has been issued, the vehicle is removed from the previous owner's name, so they no longer have any responsibility for it. Not only do motorists in Lutterworth get the best scrap car deal with us, but they also get assistance throughout the process to make everything easier.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, any outstanding finance must normally be settled before a vehicle can be scrapped, unless the finance company gives clear approval. The lender keeps a legal interest in the car until the agreement ends, so contact them first for settlement details or written permission, and we'll help you arrange the next steps once everything is cleared.

Do I need to notify the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't need to notify the DVLA yourself when using Car.co.uk. The DVLA notification is completed as part of the Certificate of Destruction process, and once the CoD is issued, the previous owner is removed from the register and any further responsibility for the vehicle ends.

What is the difference between scrapping and salvaging?
Dropdown Icon

The difference between scrapping and salvaging comes down to the vehicle's condition and remaining value. Scrapping involves dismantling the car and recycling materials such as metal under ELV directive rules, while salvaging focuses on selling the vehicle whole or reusing parts where possible. Car.co.uk checks both options to help find the route that offers the best outcome for the owner. For either route, we aim to meet environmental standards every step of the way.
