Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Quick, easy, great service, decent price.
Organised it to be collected, driver (Tony) was in contact throughout the collection day to keep me posted. 10 minutes and I was paid and he was gone! Great service, Tony was very friendly and efficient. Definitely will use this service again in the future, been with WeBuyAnyCar a few times and for convenience, this blows them out of the water (all circumstantial of course). Couldn’t have asked for more, really helpful.

Highly recommend - 10/10 service
Whole process was really easy and completely fuss free from start to finish. Entered my postcode and registration online and was given a price straight away without having to sign up to anything. The price offered was better than anywhere else. Selected a date and time that suited me for collection and booked in a matter of minutes. Really clear information was given about the collection process via email. Collection day arrived and the guy who came was really friendly. Quick check of the car, loaded onto the truck and received the money within minutes. I would highly recommend this company as it was so easy, no hidden terms and conditions and an all round great experience.

They do what they say they do. Excellent.
I was contacted well in advance regarding the collection of my vehicle. Steve the driver phoned me and asked if he could collect sooner than booked. This was OK with me. When he arrived he was friendly and courteous and because of the advanced notification, gave me time to have everything ready for the handover. The money was transferred to my account within minutes. A great service and one that I would recommend to anyone wanting to dispose of a vehicle.

A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

Scrap my car in Leicester FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Leicester?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid for a scrap car in Leicester is £266. This can change based on weight, condition, make and model, current scrap metal prices, and whether the vehicle has salvageable parts or is only fit for scrap. Use our scrap quote tool to check your scrap car value in under 30 seconds and see the best prices for your vehicle.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Leicester?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for the collection of your scrap car in Leicester. You can ask someone else to do so for you, as long as they're over 18 and have access to the vehicle. They'll also need to have all the required paperwork for collection to go ahead without delay and remain hassle free.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook, but you'll need alternative paperwork like photo ID, proof of address, and supporting papers such as MOT certificates and service history to prove ownership instead. Checks can take slightly longer while ownership details are verified before collection and payment can be made.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't need to have the keys for your car in order for us to scrap it. Missing keys are a common issue, but not having them won't prevent collection or change the quoted price. Recovery teams can load the vehicle using specialist equipment, and the condition of the car is what determines the price for your car.

Can I scrap a car with no MOT in Leicester?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car with no MOT in Leicester. MOT status won't affect scrap valuation or prevent collection. The main requirement is simply that the car is accessible for pickup.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Leicester?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C log book in order to scrap your car in Leicester, as well as photo ID and proof of address. Missing paperwork won't necessarily prevent a sale because we can still help even if the V5C isn't available. We'll guide you through the checks needed to keep everything compliant and stress free.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we'll issue a Certificate of Destruction within 7 days of processing on request. Car.co.uk handles DVLA notifications automatically, and the CoD removes the previous owner from the DVLA register, ending further responsibility for the vehicle.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, all remaining finance must be settled before you can scrap your car in Leicester. Unless the finance company gives clear consent for the vehicle to be scrapped, they keep a legal interest in the car until the agreement ends. The best next step is to contact the provider, confirm the balance, and then arrange collection once everything's cleared.

Do I need to notify the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, Car.co.uk automatically notifies the DVLA when the Certificate of Destruction is processed, so you just need to provide your V5C logbook details. Once the CoD is issued, you're removed from the DVLA register and no longer responsible for the vehicle.

How do I avoid scrap car scams in Leicester?
Dropdown Icon

The best way to avoid scams in Leicester is to always use a licensed buyer. Scrap car scams are a genuine risk, so avoid cash-in-hand deals, unlicensed collectors, and last-minute price drops on collection day. Legitimate payments are only ever made by bank transfer, never in cash. Under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, paying cash for cars and scrap vehicles is prohibited. Car.co.uk is the safer route, with a high Trustpilot rating from 15,000+ reviews, full DVLA paperwork support, and a Certificate of Destruction on request.
