William Fletcher MBE

William Fletcher is the driving force behind Car.co.uk, Garage.co.uk and Trader.co.uk, three fast-growing automotive platforms transforming how the UK buys, services and recycles vehicles. Known for blending business performance with genuine purpose, William has built a career on proving that doing good and doing well can go hand in hand.

After earning a MORSE degree from the University of Warwick, he began his career in finance and analytics at Capital One, Barclays and TDX Group before moving into retail leadership at Morrisons. But it was in 2013, when he became CEO of Recycling Lives, that William’s belief in socially responsible enterprise truly came to life. Under his guidance, the business expanded nationwide, grew revenues tenfold and won four Queen’s Awards, all while helping people rebuild their lives through training and employment.

Recognised with an MBE in 2023 for his services to recycling and social enterprise, William now brings the same values-led approach to the automotive world. As a Judge for The King’s Awards for Enterprise, he continues to champion businesses that create opportunity and deliver measurable social value.
