They do what they say they do. Excellent.
I was contacted well in advance regarding the collection of my vehicle. Steve the driver phoned me and asked if he could collect sooner than booked. This was OK with me. When he arrived he was friendly and courteous and because of the advanced notification, gave me time to have everything ready for the handover. The money was transferred to my account within minutes. A great service and one that I would recommend to anyone wanting to dispose of a vehicle.

Quick, easy, great service, decent price.
Organised it to be collected, driver (Tony) was in contact throughout the collection day to keep me posted. 10 minutes and I was paid and he was gone! Great service, Tony was very friendly and efficient. Definitely will use this service again in the future, been with WeBuyAnyCar a few times and for convenience, this blows them out of the water (all circumstantial of course). Couldn’t have asked for more, really helpful.

Car.co.uk gave me a reasonable price
Car.co.uk gave me a reasonable price to scrap my car, all the booking online was straightforward and they were able to collect it the next working day. The driver let me know exactly when he was coming and 2 minutes after he had arrived, the car was gone with no issues. He was very polite and friendly. No complaints :)

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Scrap my car in Addlestone FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Addlestone?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid for scrap cars in Addlestone is £267. This price depends on weight, condition, make, and model, current scrap metal prices, and whether salvage would return more than scrap. Get an instant scrap car value online and see the best prices for your vehicle.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Addlestone?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present in person for the collection of your scrap car in Addlestone. You can have someone else meet the driver on your behalf as long as they're over 18 and have access to the vehicle, the relevant paperwork, plus photo ID.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook, but in its place you'll need photo ID, proof of address, and supporting records such as MOT certificates or service history to help confirm ownership. A missing logbook means the scrap process will likely take slightly longer, delaying collection and payment.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't need to provide keys for a car you want to scrap. Missing keys are a common issue but won't prevent collection or affect the quoted price. Specialist equipment can be used to load the vehicle safely, and the scrap car quote is based on condition, not whether keys are available. Keep in mind that narrow roads and low bridges, such as the Byfleet & New Haw Bridge, can affect recovery in certain cases.

What is the difference between scrapping and salvaging?
Dropdown Icon

Scrapping is when a vehicle is dismantled and recycled mainly for scrap metal value under the ELV directive. Salvaging is when the car still has enough value to be sold whole or broken down for usable parts. Car.co.uk always assesses both routes and goes with the outcome that pays the owner the most.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Addlestone?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C logbook, proof of address, and photo ID to scrap your car in Addlestone. The V5C logbook helps us verify ownership quickly, but if you don't have it, you can still usually proceed with alternative paperwork. We'll get you through what's needed to complete the sale compliantly and hassle free.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request a Certificate of Destruction, we can issue one within 7 days of processing. Car.co.uk handles DVLA notifications automatically, and the CoD removes the previous owner from the DVLA register, ending further responsibility for the vehicle.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, you'll need to settle any outstanding balance before scrapping a financed car. Lenders keep a legal interest in cars they finance until the agreement ends, so check with them first, and we'll help you move ahead once that part is sorted.

Can I scrap a SORN vehicle in Addlestone?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a SORN vehicle in Addlestone. Scrap vehicles don't need to be taxed or insured for collection, but mustn't be driven on public roads, which means they need to be collected from a private or off-road address. Once the CoD is processed, the DVLA notification removes SORN status automatically.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can keep your private number plate before scrapping your car in Addlestone, but you must apply to retain or transfer it with the DVLA first. You can use the DVLA website or fill out a V317 form to complete the process. Registration must be removed before a Certificate of Destruction can be issued for the vehicle.
