We received a very competitive quote…
We received a very competitive quote from Car.co.uk for my car and from the start they were very efficient with their quote which was easy to understand. After accepting their quote they kept me fully informed of the procedure and made it clear and simple. We agreed a collection date and they arrived on time with two polite and helpful driver and assistant and they loaded my car and left very quickly. The agreed price was paid by Car.co.uk and the money was in my Bank before the driver left. I would highly recommend this Company.

Easy to contact by phone
Easy to contact by phone. All the staff I spoke to were polite and helpful. All arrangements were confirmed in writing and timescales were kept to. The collection went well, he kept me informed and was very . professionalRidiculous as it may seem I was sad to scrap my car but they made it a painless experience.

They do what they say they do. Excellent.
I was contacted well in advance regarding the collection of my vehicle. Steve the driver phoned me and asked if he could collect sooner than booked. This was OK with me. When he arrived he was friendly and courteous and because of the advanced notification, gave me time to have everything ready for the handover. The money was transferred to my account within minutes. A great service and one that I would recommend to anyone wanting to dispose of a vehicle.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

Scrap my car in Sevenoaks FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Sevenoaks?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Sevenoaks for a scrap car is £274, but your final price depends on weight, condition, make, model, current metal prices and whether the vehicle has salvageable parts or is fit only for scrap. Cars used for commuting around the M25, A25 and wider Kent area can vary significantly in age, mileage and condition, so every vehicle is assessed individually. Enter your registration and postcode into our scrap car prices tool to get a live quote in under 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Sevenoaks?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for collection of your scrap car in Sevenoaks. If you're visiting Knole Park or have other plans during your collection slot, you can nominate someone else aged 18 or over to meet the driver. They'll need access to the vehicle and may need the required paperwork and ID details, so the handover can be completed without delays.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. You'll usually need photo ID, proof of address and supporting paperwork such as MOT certificates or service history to help prove ownership. The checks can take slightly longer, but we'll guide you through the process and explain what's needed before collection.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't need to provide keys for your car. Missing keys are common and won't prevent collection or change the quoted price. Recovery teams can still load the vehicle using specialist equipment, because the vehicle's condition, age, weight and parts value matter more than whether the keys are available.

Can I scrap a car that is not registered in my name?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car that isn't registered in your name, but conditions apply. The registered keeper should provide written authority where possible, or you'll need a legitimate reason for possession such as a gift, inheritance or deceased estate. You'll also need proof of identity and supporting paperwork such as a will, gift letter or statutory declaration, and Car.co.uk can advise before booking.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Sevenoaks?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C logbook to scrap your car in Sevenoaks, along with photo ID and proof of address. Having your V5C logbook ready helps speed up the process, and our guidance can help if you're unsure what to bring. If the document is missing, you can usually still proceed with alternative proof of ownership, and we'll guide the paperwork from start to finish.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request one, we issue a Certificate of Destruction within 7 days of processing. Car.co.uk handles the DVLA notification automatically, and once issued, the CoD removes the previous owner from the DVLA register, meaning further responsibility for the vehicle ends.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, any outstanding finance must be settled first unless the finance company gives clear consent for the vehicle to be scrapped. Lenders keep a legal interest in the car until the agreement ends, so the best next step is to contact the provider, confirm the balance and arrange collection once they've authorised release.

How do I avoid scrap car scams in Sevenoaks?
Dropdown Icon

Scrap car scams can happen in Sevenoaks, so avoid cash-in-hand deals, unlicensed collectors and last-minute price drops on collection day. Legitimate payments are made by bank transfer, not cash, under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013. Car.co.uk offers a safer route with a 4.9/5 Trustpilot rating from 15,000+ reviews and CoD support available on request. Read our scrap car scams guide for full details on what to look out for.

Can I scrap a SORN vehicle in Sevenoaks?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a SORN vehicle in Sevenoaks, and it doesn't need to be taxed or insured for collection. A SORN car must not be driven on a public road, so it needs to be collected from a private or off-road address. Once a Certificate of Destruction is processed, the DVLA notification is handled automatically and the SORN status ends.
