Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Car.co.uk gave me a reasonable price
Car.co.uk gave me a reasonable price to scrap my car, all the booking online was straightforward and they were able to collect it the next working day. The driver let me know exactly when he was coming and 2 minutes after he had arrived, the car was gone with no issues. He was very polite and friendly. No complaints :)

We received a very competitive quote…
We received a very competitive quote from Car.co.uk for my car and from the start they were very efficient with their quote which was easy to understand. After accepting their quote they kept me fully informed of the procedure and made it clear and simple. We agreed a collection date and they arrived on time with two polite and helpful driver and assistant and they loaded my car and left very quickly. The agreed price was paid by Car.co.uk and the money was in my Bank before the driver left. I would highly recommend this Company.

First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

Great service
I recently had my old car collected and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish, everything was handled smoothly and I was kept informed throughout the whole process. The driver, Roy, was excellent – really friendly, professional, and informative, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The payment was transferred instantly upon collection, which was a huge plus. Overall, a fantastic service and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to scrap their car.

Scrap my car in Maryport FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Maryport?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Maryport for a scrap car is £225. Your price depends on weight, condition, make, model, current metal prices, and whether the vehicle has more value as salvage than scrap. Pop in your details here to see today's scrap car prices and get a scrap car quote in under 30 seconds. It's a guaranteed way to get the best price for your car on the market.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Maryport?
Dropdown Icon

You don't have to be at the address when we collect your scrap car in Maryport. If you're out along the coast, visiting places such as Senhouse Roman Museum, or away from home for the day, you can arrange for another adult aged 18 or over to meet the driver instead. They’ll need access to the vehicle and any required keys or paperwork, and we'll confirm the collection details beforehand to make the handover straightforward.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Missing your V5C logbook doesn't always mean you can't scrap your car in Maryport. We’ll normally ask for photo ID, proof of address, and any other useful documents such as MOT paperwork or service records to help confirm ownership. These checks may add a little extra time, but we’ll explain what’s needed before arranging collection.

Can I scrap a car that is not registered in my name?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, it may be possible to scrap a car that isn't registered in your name, but we’ll need to make sure you have the legal right to dispose of the vehicle. This could involve written permission from the registered keeper or documents explaining how you acquired it, such as inheritance paperwork or a gift letter. Contact us before booking and we’ll explain exactly what evidence is required.

Can I scrap a car with no MOT in Maryport?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without an MOT in Maryport, and the lack of a current test certificate won't stop collection. For older vehicles affected by issues such as corrosion, worn parts, or failed repairs, scrapping can often be a more practical option than investing in another MOT. The only requirement is that the vehicle can be safely accessed when our collection team arrives.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Maryport?
Dropdown Icon

The V5C logbook is important to have to scrap your car in Maryport, along with a photo ID and proof of address. If the V5C is missing, we can usually still help with alternative checks, and our team will guide the paperwork. We want you to sell your car the quickest way you can, so we'll be on hand to help.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, a Certificate of Destruction can be provided within 7 days of processing if you request one. Car.co.uk takes care of the DVLA notification, and once the CoD has been issued, you’re removed from the vehicle record and no longer have responsibility for it. This gives you extra reassurance that the car has been dealt with through the correct process.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

A car with outstanding finance cannot usually be scrapped until the agreement has been cleared or the finance provider confirms they’re happy for the vehicle to be disposed of. As the lender still has a legal interest in the car, you’ll need to resolve this with them first. Once everything is approved, we can help arrange the remaining steps and collection.

Can I scrap an electric or hybrid car in Maryport?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, electric and hybrid vehicles can be scrapped in Maryport through the same simple process as petrol and diesel cars. Car.co.uk accepts EVs, plug-in hybrids, mild hybrids, and other fuel types, with authorised treatment facilities handling specialist components such as high-voltage batteries safely. Every vehicle is assessed so the correct recycling or reuse route can be followed.

What is the difference between scrapping and salvaging?
Dropdown Icon

The main difference between scrapping and salvaging comes down to how much value remains in the vehicle. Scrapping focuses on recycling the car for materials such as metal, while salvaging looks at whether it can be sold whole or provide reusable parts. Car.co.uk checks both options, including some vehicles that are written off, to help find the route that provides the strongest return.
