Customers love us

They do what they say they do. Excellent.
I was contacted well in advance regarding the collection of my vehicle. Steve the driver phoned me and asked if he could collect sooner than booked. This was OK with me. When he arrived he was friendly and courteous and because of the advanced notification, gave me time to have everything ready for the handover. The money was transferred to my account within minutes. A great service and one that I would recommend to anyone wanting to dispose of a vehicle.

Outstanding service A*****
The process was very straightforward, the vehicle was collected on the day agreed - I received a call when the driver was 30 minutes away. The driver 'Darren' was knowledgeable and a complete professional. All inspections carried out, documents sorted and on his pick up in under 30 minutes. The money was processed to my bank very shortly after. Will definitely recommend and would not hesitate using your company again.

Quick, easy, great service, decent price.
Organised it to be collected, driver (Tony) was in contact throughout the collection day to keep me posted. 10 minutes and I was paid and he was gone! Great service, Tony was very friendly and efficient. Definitely will use this service again in the future, been with WeBuyAnyCar a few times and for convenience, this blows them out of the water (all circumstantial of course). Couldn’t have asked for more, really helpful.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Scrap my car in Workington FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Workington?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Workington is £227. Your car value depends on weight, condition, make, model, current metal values and reusable parts. Enter your car registration and postcode to see scrap car prices, check the price for your scrap and decide whether the offer gives you the best scrap car deal for your vehicle before booking today.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Workington?
Dropdown Icon

No, you do not need to be present for collection in Workington. You can nominate an adult aged 18 or over, provided they have access to the vehicle, photo ID and the agreed paperwork. Tell us beforehand so the handover can go ahead securely without delaying the booked collection.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. You will usually need photo ID, proof of address and evidence connecting you to the vehicle, such as an MOT certificate or purchase receipt. Ownership checks can take slightly longer before collection and payment are approved once details are properly verified.

What is the difference between scrapping and salvaging?
Dropdown Icon

Scrapping means the vehicle is dismantled and recycled mainly for material value, while salvaging means the whole car or usable parts still have resale value. Car.co.uk assesses both routes, including components and salvage potential, so the vehicle can be handled in the way that gives the owner the strongest return.

Can I scrap a car with no MOT in Workington?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car with no MOT in Workington. A failed or expired MOT does not prevent collection, provided the vehicle can be accessed safely for recovery. Brake wear or corrosion can make repairs poor value, so collection avoids driving an illegal vehicle and removes the need to move it yourself beforehand.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Workington?
Dropdown Icon

You normally need the V5C logbook, photo ID and proof of address. If the logbook is missing, collection may still be possible once alternative ownership evidence is checked. We explain what to prepare before pickup so the handover remains straightforward, properly recorded and compliant at your Workington address without unnecessary delays on collection day.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, a Certificate of Destruction can be issued when the vehicle is scrapped and eligible. It confirms the car entered the end-of-life process, while DVLA notification removes the previous keeper from the record and ends responsibility for the vehicle.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, outstanding finance normally needs to be settled before the vehicle is scrapped, unless the lender provides clear consent. The finance company retains a legal interest until the agreement ends, so contact it for a settlement figure or written permission before arranging collection. Once resolved, the booking can move forward without unnecessary delays.

Can I scrap a car that is not registered in my name?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car that is not registered in your name, but you need clear authority to dispose of it. Written permission from the keeper, estate documents, proof of purchase or supporting evidence may be required. You should also have photo ID and proof of address ready, and ownership checks may be completed before collection is approved.

Do I need to notify the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you should still make sure the DVLA is correctly notified when your car is scrapped. Car.co.uk supports the required paperwork and, where a Certificate of Destruction is issued, the vehicle's end-of-life status is recorded. Keep any confirmation you receive for your records.
