Outstanding service A*****
The process was very straightforward, the vehicle was collected on the day agreed - I received a call when the driver was 30 minutes away. The driver 'Darren' was knowledgeable and a complete professional. All inspections carried out, documents sorted and on his pick up in under 30 minutes. The money was processed to my bank very shortly after. Will definitely recommend and would not hesitate using your company again.

Quick, easy, great service, decent price.
Organised it to be collected, driver (Tony) was in contact throughout the collection day to keep me posted. 10 minutes and I was paid and he was gone! Great service, Tony was very friendly and efficient. Definitely will use this service again in the future, been with WeBuyAnyCar a few times and for convenience, this blows them out of the water (all circumstantial of course). Couldn’t have asked for more, really helpful.

First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Scrap my car in Northamptonshire FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Northamptonshire?
Dropdown Icon

The average price of a scrap car in Northamptonshire is £255, and this figure depends on the vehicle's weight, condition, make and model, as well as current scrap metal prices, and whether it has more salvage value than end-of-life value. For a live figure based on your vehicle, check out our scrap car prices and get a scrap car quote in under 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Northamptonshire?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be there when we collect your scrap car in Northamptonshire. You can have someone over 18 meet the driver on your behalf, they'll just need photo ID, access to the vehicle, and all the required paperwork to keep the handover simple and stress free.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car even if you don't have its V5C logbook. You'll need photo ID and proof of address in its place, as well as MOT certificates or service history to help confirm ownership details. A missing logbook will likely make checks take slightly longer before collection and payment can be arranged.

How long does it take to scrap my car in Northamptonshire?
Dropdown Icon

Free same day collection is possible in most cases in Northamptonshire, and we'll offer the best price for your scrap car online in under 30 seconds. You can then choose a time for free car collection. Keep in mind that busy routes such as the A43 can affect timing, as can narrow roads and low bridges, such as the West Coast Main Line bridge on Three Bridges Road between Long Buckby and the A5. We make a same-day payment by bank transfer on collection, and a Certificate of Destruction is usually issued within 7 days.

Do I need to notify the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, Car.co.uk notifies the DVLA automatically once the CoD is processed. You just need to provide your V5C logbook details. Once issued, the Certificate of Destruction removes you from the DVLA register, so you're no longer responsible for the vehicle.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Northamptonshire?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need the V5C log book, as well as photo ID and proof of address, to scrap your car in Northamptonshire. Having your V5C logbook details will help us process everything smoothly, and if it's missing, you can still proceed in many cases. We'll guide you through all the paperwork from start to finish.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request a Certificate of Destruction, we can send you one within 7 days of processing. Car.co.uk handles DVLA notifications automatically, and the CoD removes you as the previous owner from the DVLA register, ending further responsibility for the vehicle.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, any outstanding balance must be paid off before you can scrap a financed car. An alternative is getting consent from the finance company. Lenders keep a legal interest in cars they finance until the agreement ends, but if you're unsure what applies, we can help you understand what you'll need to do.

Can I scrap an electric or hybrid car in Northamptonshire?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we accept electric vehicles, hybrid cars, plug-in hybrids, PHEVs, and mild hybrids in Northamptonshire. Car.co.uk can handle all fuel types, including battery electric vehicles. We process every vehicle at an authorised treatment facility for ELV handling and safe battery removal.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, missing keys are a common issue, but it won't prevent collection or affect the quote. Recovery teams can still load the vehicle using specialist equipment, and the vehicle's condition is what determines the final price.
