Very easy transaction.
Very easy transaction. Easy to book, collection person phoned to say exactly what time they were arriving. I just left him to it and collection took around 10 mins including taking photos of my id and the car. Sad to see my car go as its been a really good car but too much wrong with it now. Payment was not immediate, took around an hour and a half. No fuss, no sweat, very easy.

First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Burton upon Trent?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present in person for us to collect your scrap car in Burton upon Trent. You can ask another adult aged at least 18 to meet the driver on your behalf, they'll just need photo ID, access to the vehicle and all the agreed paperwork.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can still scrap a car that doesn't have a V5C logbook, but you'll need photo ID, proof of address and supporting paperwork such as MOT certificates or service history instead. A missing logbook can make vehicle disposal services take slightly longer.

Which areas of Burton upon Trent do you cover?

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, all outstanding finance must be settled before a car can be scrapped, unless the finance company gives consent. Lenders maintain a legal interest in a financed car until your agreement with them ends, so check in with them to see what can be done.

How does scrap car payment work?
Dropdown Icon

Same-day payment is made by bank transfer. We never pay cash for cars because it's prohibited under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013. The quoted price is paid on collection, with no last-minute reductions as long as the car matches the details you entered when you booked.

Do I need to notify the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, Car.co.uk handles DVLA notifications automatically during the Certificate of Destruction process. You just need to give us your V5C logbook details, and the CoD removes you as the previous owner from the DVLA register, ending further responsibility for the vehicle.
