Quick and Convenient Vehicle Scrappage
This was a quick and easy way to scrap our old vehicle. The online evaluation check was useful and produced a similar price to what we expected. It only took a few moments to book a collection date and time, and this was confirmed via text and email. On collection day I was texted further confirmation and called by the driver to inform of his eta. The driver was informative and professional. The purchase was accepted and the payment okayed, with the money transferred immediately. Overall, and great service and would recommend.

First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

They do what they say they do. Excellent.
I was contacted well in advance regarding the collection of my vehicle. Steve the driver phoned me and asked if he could collect sooner than booked. This was OK with me. When he arrived he was friendly and courteous and because of the advanced notification, gave me time to have everything ready for the handover. The money was transferred to my account within minutes. A great service and one that I would recommend to anyone wanting to dispose of a vehicle.

Scrap my car in Inverness FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Inverness?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Inverness for a scrap car is £54, but every vehicle is valued individually based on weight, condition, make, model and current metal prices. Older cars that have served drivers across Inverness and the surrounding Highland roads may still have value through reusable components, even when they are no longer economical to repair. Enter your details for an instant scrap car value in under 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Inverness?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for collection of your scrap car in Inverness. Whether you're spending the day at Inverness Castle or enjoying the local sights, another adult aged 18 or over can meet the driver on your behalf. They'll need access to the vehicle plus the required paperwork, keeping the handover straightforward.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. Older vehicles that have spent years covering journeys around Inverness and the wider Highlands may not always have every document available. We'll usually ask for photo ID, proof of address and supporting paperwork such as MOT certificates or service history, and although checks can take slightly longer, we'll guide you through the process.

Which areas of Inverness do you cover?
Dropdown Icon

We provide free scrap car collection across Inverness, including areas such as Culloden, Smithton, Raigmore, Hilton, Inshes and the city centre. We also collect from surrounding Highland communities, including Nairn, Beauly, Dingwall and Fortrose, with collection available from homes, workplaces and safe roadside locations. Enter your postcode and we'll confirm availability straight away.

Can I scrap a car with no MOT in Inverness?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without an MOT in Inverness. Many older vehicles that have served drivers across Inverness and the wider Highlands eventually reach the point where repairs such as brakes, suspension or rust-related work cost more than the car is worth. Winter frost, ice and road gritting can add to the wear over time, leading to failed MOTs, but missing paperwork doesn't prevent collection as long as the vehicle is accessible.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Inverness?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C logbook to scrap your car in Inverness, along with photo ID and proof of address. Many vehicles in the Highlands stay with their owners for years, so missing paperwork can sometimes happen over time. If your V5C logbook is missing, you can usually still proceed, and we'll guide you through the alternative paperwork needed to complete the sale compliantly.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request one, we issue a Certificate of Destruction within 7 days of processing. For Inverness motorists, a CoD provides peace of mind that their vehicle has been dealt with correctly once it leaves their hands. Car.co.uk handles the DVLA notification automatically, and once issued the CoD removes the previous owner from the DVLA register so further responsibility ends.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, outstanding finance must be settled first, or the finance company must give consent before the vehicle can be scrapped. Whether your car has been used for daily journeys around Inverness or longer trips across the Highlands, any lender interest must be cleared before disposal. Once confirmation is in place, we'll help you move forward with collection.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't need to provide keys for your car. Lost or missing keys won't stop collection or affect the quoted price, whether your vehicle is parked at home, on a driveway or at another accessible location in Inverness. Our collection partners use specialist equipment where needed, and the condition of the vehicle is much more important than key availability.

Can I scrap a SORN vehicle in Inverness?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a SORN vehicle in Inverness. The vehicle doesn't need to be taxed or insured for collection, but it must not be driven on a public road. Many SORN vehicles are older cars that have been kept on private land, driveways or in garages while owners decide what to do with them. We'll collect from a suitable private or off-road address, and if you request a CoD, the DVLA notification removes the SORN status automatically.
