A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

The driver, Roy, was excellent – really friendly, professional, and informative, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The payment was transferred instantly upon collection, which was a huge plus. Overall, a fantastic service and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to scrap their car.

We received a very competitive quote…
We received a very competitive quote from Car.co.uk for my car and from the start they were very efficient with their quote which was easy to understand. After accepting their quote they kept me fully informed of the procedure and made it clear and simple. We agreed a collection date and they arrived on time with two polite and helpful driver and assistant and they loaded my car and left very quickly. The agreed price was paid by Car.co.uk and the money was in my Bank before the driver left. I would highly recommend this Company.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Scrap my car in Sittingbourne FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Sittingbourne?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Sittingbourne for a scrap car is £270, but your final value depends on the vehicle itself. Factors including weight, condition, make, model, current metal prices and whether it has more value through salvage than scrap all affect the offer. Enter your registration and postcode to check scrap car prices and get a quote in under 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Sittingbourne?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for collection of your scrap car in Sittingbourne. If you're visiting Sittingbourne Heritage Museum or have other plans during your collection slot, you can nominate another adult over 18 to meet the driver. They'll need your permission, access to the vehicle and any requested identification or paperwork ready for the handover.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can usually scrap a car without a V5C logbook. We'll ask for photo ID, proof of address and supporting documents such as MOT certificates or service history to help confirm ownership. The checks may take slightly longer, but we'll guide you through the process before collection and processing are arranged.

Do you accept commercial vehicles in Sittingbourne?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we accept vans and light commercial vehicles in Sittingbourne, including panel vans, pick-ups and minibuses. The quote process is the same, simply enter your registration number and postcode. Many commercial vehicles return a higher price than cars because their larger size and kerb weight usually means more recyclable material.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't need to provide keys for your car. Missing keys are common and won't prevent collection or affect the quoted price. Recovery teams can still load the vehicle using specialist equipment, and the value is based on the car's condition, specification and parts rather than whether the keys are available.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Sittingbourne?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C logbook to scrap your car in Sittingbourne, along with photo ID and proof of address. If your V5C is missing, that doesn't always stop the process, and we'll explain what alternative paperwork may be needed so the vehicle can be processed compliantly.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request one, we issue a Certificate of Destruction within 7 days of processing. Car.co.uk handles the DVLA notification automatically, and once the CoD is issued, the previous owner is removed from the DVLA register so responsibility for the vehicle ends.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, any outstanding finance must usually be settled first, unless the finance company gives consent for the vehicle to be disposed of. Lenders retain a legal interest in the car until the agreement ends, so contact them first for settlement details or approval. Once clearance is in place, we'll help you move forward.

Which areas of Sittingbourne do you cover?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we cover all postcodes within Sittingbourne, including Milton Regis, Kemsley and Murston. Free collection is available from any address, and we also cover surrounding parts of the wider area. Enter your postcode and we'll confirm collection availability straight away.

What is the difference between scrapping and salvaging?
Dropdown Icon

Scrapping means the vehicle is dismantled and recycled mainly for its metal value under the ELV Directive. Salvaging means the car still has enough value to be resold as a complete vehicle or dismantled for usable parts. Car.co.uk assesses both options to find the route that provides the best outcome for the owner.
