Is it a problem if I can’t provide the car keys?

No, that shouldn’t be a problem. Since the scrap yards we work with across North East Lincolnshire often deal with badly accident damaged vehicles, cars with missing keys can be easily recovered.

Can I get paid before you collect?

No – simply because we require each of our scrap partners to perform a quick inspection of the vehicle before they confirm payment. The inspection is just to make sure the car was described accurately when the quote was issued.

Do I need to be present when the car is picked up?

No, you don’t. The law that surrounds the collection of scrap metal means we must insist someone is there to be with the car when it’s recovered – but it’s fine if you’d like to nominate someone else. Please make sure they have the car’s documents and a form of photo ID. Also, if you don’t have the V5C form, they’ll need to provide proof of their address too.

Do you give me a set time for collection?

Will you quote to scrap my car if it has flat tyres?

Yes. Since our scrap partners often collect cars that have been seriously damaged in accidents, flat tyres are not a problem.

My insurance company have asked for a COD?

That’s okay; you’ll receive a copy of the Certificate of Destruction (COD) in due course. The certificate is issued by the DVLA when the dismantler handling your car confirms it has been processed. They will receive a copy of the form, and one will be forwarded to you.
