No – don’t throw it away. On collection day you’ll need to complete section 9 of the V5C log book. It’s your legal responsibility to do this – as this is how the DVLA update their vehicle ownership records. Will you provide a COD for my insurance company?

Yes. Since each of our partner scrap yards are considered ‘ATFs’ (Authorised Treatment Facilities) – they have the ability to formally begin the scrapping process with the DVLA. When notified, the DVLA will then produce a Certificate of Destruction (COD), and your ATF will make sure a copy is forwarded to you.

What happens if my car doesn’t have wheels?

Don’t worry. Since many scrap cars aren’t fit for the road, we’ll always collect them using specialist recovery vehicles. If your wheels are missing, just let our partner know when they call to confirm your collection time. They’ll make sure the correct equipment is brought to remove your car.

Do I get paid before or after pickup?

You’ll be paid promptly after collection. This is just because the car scrap yards we work with in the Yeovil area must check to make sure the car was accurately described when the quote was issued.

Is it okay if I keep the stereo I fitted in the car?

Will I lose my personal number plate when I scrap my car?
