Scrap your car for cash in 24 hrs
Online search for scrap my car this firm popped up. Put reg and postcode in to their page, got a quote excepted and arranged collection. That was 24 hours ago. Car has been collected from the address i gave them payments in bank and that was all by 11 am this morning. Driver was polite and curious and everything was as smooth a transaction as i could have hoped for. Great service, i can't comment on value as only looked here and excepted price offered.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Outstanding service A*****
The process was very straightforward, the vehicle was collected on the day agreed - I received a call when the driver was 30 minutes away. The driver 'Darren' was knowledgeable and a complete professional. All inspections carried out, documents sorted and on his pick up in under 30 minutes. The money was processed to my bank very shortly after. Will definitely recommend and would not hesitate using your company again.

A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

We received a very competitive quote…
We received a very competitive quote from Car.co.uk for my car and from the start they were very efficient with their quote which was easy to understand. After accepting their quote they kept me fully informed of the procedure and made it clear and simple. We agreed a collection date and they arrived on time with two polite and helpful driver and assistant and they loaded my car and left very quickly. The agreed price was paid by Car.co.uk and the money was in my Bank before the driver left. I would highly recommend this Company.

Scrap my car in Runcorn FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Runcorn?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Runcorn for a scrap car is £290, although your final price depends on weight, condition, make, model, current metal prices, and whether it has salvage value rather than being weighed in for scrap. The quickest and easiest thing to do is enter your registration and Runcorn postcode and get a quote in less than 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Runcorn?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for the collection of your scrap car in Runcorn. Another individual can be nominated, provided they're over 18 and have access to the vehicle, plus the required documents. Great if you're taking the dog for a walk over Runcorn Hill Park. Just let us know, so we can be prepared for pickup.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. If you’ve misplaced it, you can still proceed as long as you provide photo ID and proof of address. MOT certificates or service history can also help confirm ownership, although checks may take slightly longer before collection and payment are arranged.

Which areas of Runcorn do you cover?
Dropdown Icon

We cover Runcorn and surrounding areas, from Old Town and Weston Point through to Halton Brook and Manor Park, and out towards Widnes, Frodsham, Warrington and Helsby. Free collection is available from any address within this coverage area, including homes near Runcorn Shopping City and along the Bridgewater Canal. Just enter your postcode for a quote and we’ll confirm availability straight away.

How long does it take to scrap my car in Runcorn?
Dropdown Icon

Same-day or next-day collection is available in most cases across Runcorn, and you can get an online quote in under 30 seconds before choosing a suitable slot during booking. Bank transfer is triggered at collection, so it's same-day payment, and if you request a Certificate of Destruction, we'll usually issue it within 7 days of processing. A simple process, right?

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Runcorn?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C log book to scrap your car in Runcorn, along with a photo ID and proof of address. Missing paperwork doesn't always put a spanner in the works because we can still help if the logbook has gone missing. Our team will be there to guide you through the extra paperwork you may need.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request one, we issue a Certificate of Destruction within 7 days of processing. Car.co.uk takes care of the DVLA notification, and once issued, the CoD removes the vehicle from the register and ends the owner’s responsibility.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, if there’s outstanding finance, it needs to be settled first or approved by the finance company before the car can be scrapped in Runcorn. The legal ownership stays with the lender until then. Start by getting a settlement figure or written permission, and we’ll help you handle the rest.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, missing keys are a common issue and won't stop the collection or change the quoted price. Specialist loading equipment can still move the vehicle safely, even if it won't start or unlock normally. Condition, weight, and parts value matter far more than whether you've got the keys to hand.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can keep your private number plate before scrapping, but you’ll need to retain or transfer it with the DVLA first. You can do this online through the DVLA website or by using a V317 form if you want to retain your registration. The plate must be removed before a Certificate of Destruction can be issued.
