Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Quick and Convenient Vehicle Scrappage
This was a quick and easy way to scrap our old vehicle. The online evaluation check was useful and produced a similar price to what we expected. It only took a few moments to book a collection date and time, and this was confirmed via text and email. On collection day I was texted further confirmation and called by the driver to inform of his eta. The driver was informative and professional. The purchase was accepted and the payment okayed, with the money transferred immediately. Overall, and great service and would recommend.

Scrap my car in Kingston FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Kingston?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Kingston for a scrap car is £241, although your price depends on weight, condition, make, model, current scrap metal prices, and whether your vehicle has salvageable parts. Cars with reusable components can be worth more than pure metal weight suggests, so check your scrap car value online and get a price in under 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Kingston?
Dropdown Icon

You don't have to be present for the collection of your scrap car in Kingston. You can nominate someone over 18 to hand the vehicle over, and they'll need photo ID plus your permission, so the handover can go ahead smoothly.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. You'll usually need photo ID, proof of address, and any supporting papers such as MOT certificates or service history, and the checks can take slightly longer, but we guide you through the alternatives so you can still arrange collection compliantly.

Do I need to notify the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Dropdown Icon

Car.co.uk handles the DVLA notification as part of the Certificate of Destruction process, so you don't have to contact them.

How long does it take to scrap my car in Kingston?
Dropdown Icon

Same day or next day collection is available in most cases in Kingston, and you can get a price online in under 30 seconds before choosing a collection slot. Payment by bank transfer is triggered at collection, and if you request a Certificate of Destruction, we'll usually issue it within seven days of processing.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Kingston?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need photo ID and proof of address to scrap your car in Kingston, while a V5C logbook is also desirable. If the V5C is missing, you can usually still proceed, and we'll explain what to provide instead.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, if you request one, we issue a Certificate of Destruction within seven days of processing.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

All outstanding finance must be settled first, unless the finance company gives clear consent for disposal. Lenders keep a legal interest in the vehicle until the agreement ends, so make sure you contact them for settlement details or written permission, and we'll help you understand what evidence is needed.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

You don't need to provide keys for your car. Missing keys are common; they won't prevent collection or change the quoted price, as recovery teams can still load the vehicle using specialist equipment.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can keep your private number plate before scrapping, but you must arrange retention or transfer with the DVLA first. Apply online through the DVLA website or by using a V317 form, and make sure the registration is removed before the Certificate of Destruction is issued, or the plate could be lost.
