Great service
I recently had my old car collected and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish, everything was handled smoothly and I was kept informed throughout the whole process. The driver, Roy, was excellent – really friendly, professional, and informative, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The payment was transferred instantly upon collection, which was a huge plus. Overall, a fantastic service and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to scrap their car.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

Scrap my car in St Neots FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in St Neots?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in St Neots for a scrap car is £248, but your vehicle's value depends on factors including weight, condition, make, model, current metal prices and whether it has more value as salvage than scrap. Enter your registration and postcode to check live scrap car prices and get a quote in under 30 seconds.

Do I need to be present for the collection in St Neots?
Dropdown Icon

No, you don't have to be present for collection of your scrap car in St Neots. If you're out visiting places such as Priory Park or have other plans, you can nominate another adult aged 18 or over to meet the driver. They'll need access to the vehicle, your permission and any agreed paperwork so the handover can be completed smoothly.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, a missing V5C logbook doesn't always stop you from scrapping your car. You'll usually need alternative ownership information, photo ID and proof of address, and we'll guide you through any additional checks needed before the vehicle is collected.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can keep your private number plate before scrapping your vehicle, but you must complete the DVLA retention or transfer process first. You can apply online or use a V317 form, and the registration must be removed before a Certificate of Destruction is issued.

What is the difference between scrapping and salvaging?
Dropdown Icon

Scrapping means a vehicle is dismantled and recycled mainly for its metal value under the ELV Directive. Salvaging means the vehicle still has enough value to be sold whole or broken for usable parts, often after damage or an insurance write-off. Car.co.uk assesses both options to find the route that provides the best return.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in St Neots?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C logbook to scrap your car in St Neots, along with photo ID and proof of address. If your V5C logbook is missing, you can often still proceed, and we'll explain what alternative paperwork may be needed before guiding you through the process.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can request a Certificate of Destruction after your vehicle has been processed, and this is usually issued within 7 days. The DVLA notification is handled as part of the process, removing you from responsibility for the vehicle once the CoD is completed.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

A car with outstanding finance usually can't be scrapped until the agreement has been cleared. The finance provider remains legally linked to the vehicle, so the next step is to request a settlement figure or written permission, and we'll help once this has been resolved.

Do you accept commercial vehicles in St Neots?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we accept vans and light commercial vehicles in St Neots, including panel vans, pick-ups and minibuses. With local businesses and trades relying on commercial vehicles for deliveries, tools and everyday work, some vans build up significant mileage and wear before repairs become uneconomical. Enter your registration and postcode for a quote, with larger vehicles often worth more because their higher kerb weight increases recyclable metal value.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

No, missing keys won't stop you from scrapping your car in St Neots. Collection teams can recover vehicles without keys using specialist equipment, and your price is based on the vehicle itself rather than whether the original keys are present.
