Steven Jackson OBE is the original innovator behind many of the UK’s leading automotive platforms from NewReg.com, the country’s first online private registration marketplace, to Car.co.uk, Garage.co.uk and Trader.co.uk. For nearly three decades, his work has transformed how drivers buy, sell and recycle vehicles, making every step simpler, smarter and more transparent.

When Steven launched NewReg.com back in 1996, he saw an opportunity to bring an old-fashioned process into the digital age. That same drive to modernise and improve still shapes his work today. Across every venture, his goal is to make vehicle ownership easier for customers while ensuring businesses operate with purpose, integrity and social value at their core.

Awarded an OBE for services to employment and named EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020, Steven has always believed success and responsibility should go hand in hand. He founded Recycling Lives, a social enterprise that turned car recycling into a force for good, supporting rehabilitation and tackling homelessness, earning four Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in the process.

Now based in Monaco, Steven remains deeply involved in his UK ventures, property developments and charitable projects. His leadership continues to shape a future where technology, sustainability and ethics work together to create real, lasting impact for people and communities across the country.
