Great service
I recently had my old car collected and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish, everything was handled smoothly and I was kept informed throughout the whole process. The driver, Roy, was excellent – really friendly, professional, and informative, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The payment was transferred instantly upon collection, which was a huge plus. Overall, a fantastic service and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to scrap their car.

Online search for scrap my car this firm popped up. Put reg and postcode in to their page, got a quote excepted and arranged collection. That was 24 hours ago. Car has been collected from the address i gave them payments in bank and that was all by 11 am this morning. Driver was polite and curious and everything was as smooth a transaction as i could have hoped for. Great service, i can't comment on value as only looked here and excepted price offered.

Quick, easy, great service, decent price.
Organised it to be collected, driver (Tony) was in contact throughout the collection day to keep me posted. 10 minutes and I was paid and he was gone! Great service, Tony was very friendly and efficient. Definitely will use this service again in the future, been with WeBuyAnyCar a few times and for convenience, this blows them out of the water (all circumstantial of course). Couldn’t have asked for more, really helpful.

Highly recommend - 10/10 service
Whole process was really easy and completely fuss free from start to finish. Entered my postcode and registration online and was given a price straight away without having to sign up to anything. The price offered was better than anywhere else. Selected a date and time that suited me for collection and booked in a matter of minutes. Really clear information was given about the collection process via email. Collection day arrived and the guy who came was really friendly. Quick check of the car, loaded onto the truck and received the money within minutes. I would highly recommend this company as it was so easy, no hidden terms and conditions and an all round great experience.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

Scrap my car in Street FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Street?
Dropdown Icon

The average local scrap price is £223. Your car value depends on weight, condition, make, model, metal rates and reusable parts. Enter your car registration and postcode to see current scrap car prices, check the price for your scrap and decide whether the offer gives you the best scrap car deal before booking.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Street?
Dropdown Icon

No, you do not need to be present for collection in Street. You can nominate an adult aged 18 or over, provided they have access to the vehicle, photo ID and agreed paperwork. Tell us beforehand who will meet the driver so the handover can proceed securely without delays.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. You will usually need photo ID, proof of address and evidence connecting you to the vehicle, such as an MOT certificate or service records. Ownership checks can take slightly longer before collection is fully approved.

Can I scrap a SORN vehicle in Street?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a SORN vehicle in Street. It does not need road tax or insurance for collection, but it must not be driven on a public road. Collection should take place from private land or another lawful off-road location, and the correct DVLA process follows after the vehicle is scrapped through a licensed facility.

How do I avoid scrap car scams in Street?
Dropdown Icon

Avoid cash-in-hand deals, unlicensed collectors and unexplained collection-day price drops to reduce the risk of scrap car scams in Street. Legitimate scrap payments should be made by bank transfer, not cash. Check who is collecting the vehicle, keep confirmation of the agreed price and make sure the disposal route is licensed. If a buyer changes the price without reason or pressures you to accept cash, stop the handover and keep records until collection is arranged.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Street?
Dropdown Icon

You normally need the V5C logbook, photo ID and proof of address. If the logbook is missing, collection may still be possible once alternative ownership evidence is checked. Service records, purchase documents or MOT paperwork can help support ownership, and we explain what to prepare before the handover so everything stays properly recorded.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, eligible vehicles receive a Certificate of Destruction once they are actually scrapped. The document confirms entry into the legal end-of-life process, and the DVLA record is updated so the previous keeper is no longer responsible for the vehicle.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

No, outstanding finance normally needs to be settled before the vehicle is scrapped, unless the lender gives written permission. The finance company retains a legal interest until the agreement ends, so contact it for a settlement figure or consent before booking. We can explain what evidence to prepare beforehand.

Which areas of Street do you cover?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we cover Street and nearby areas including Glastonbury, Wells, Bridgwater and Shepton Mallet. Collection can be arranged from a home, workplace, driveway or another safe recovery point, so enter your postcode to confirm available local slots. We also cover surrounding Somerset locations where access is suitable.

Can I scrap a car that is not registered in my name?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car that is not registered in your name, but extra ownership evidence may be required. Written authority from the registered keeper is helpful. For inherited, gifted or estate vehicles, a gift letter, will or other proof may be needed alongside ID. Explain the situation before booking so the correct ownership checks can be completed before the collection takes place.
