Great prices and great service!

We’re certain we provide the UK’s best way to scrap a Vauxhall car or van. We’re confident this is the case because we’ve spent a long time creating a process that’s completely straightforward for you – removing any hard work normally involved with scrapping a car.

When you sell your Vauxhall for scrap through Car.co.uk, we’ll check our UK-wide network of Vauxhall scrap dealers to make sure we’ve found the best price for you. What’s more, when you accept your quote, you’ll be able to pick a collection time that works for you.

Our commitment to great service doesn’t end there though; we’ll even make sure you’re helped to complete all your DVLA paperwork too – so you can be confident your responsibility for the car is tied up before it leaves. You also get to know that your car is being handled in a way that’s approved by the Environment Agency too – as all our Vauxhall disposal partners are accredited Authorised Treatment Facilities too.

Supporting charity projects with Vauxhall recycling

There are nearly 4 million Vauxhalls currently owned in the UK – and around 310,000 of those are currently not used on the road and kept under a SORN agreement.

Have you got a SORN Vauxhall that’s seen better days? Maybe you’ve got a vehicle that’s been involved in an accident or recently failed its MOT? If so, scrapping it with Car.co.uk doesn’t just mean a great price for you, it also means you’ll be helped to support a range of charities around the country.

Car.co.uk isn’t just run with directors and shareholders in mind. Social value is at the heart of what we do – so part of the income that your car helps us to generate will be used to provide financial backing for good causes. From food banks and community cafes to HMP Academies that help to reduce crime rates in local areas, using our scrapping service helps to provide real, lasting help for potentially vulnerable people.

What difference can scrap cars make to local communities

A great deal for your scrap Vauxhall car also creates life-changing charity donations.

At Car.co.uk, we’re proud to support a large number of charities and good causes in the UK and abroad – and your scrap car quote will help us to continue these important contributions.

As well as being positive for the environment, recycling your old or damaged car with Car.co.uk means we can:

  • Fund HMP training academies
  • Support assisted living schemes
  • Help to grow food redistribution networks

Social value projects like these don’t just positively impact the people who access them – their effect can be felt much more widely – not least by reducing the strain on the emergency services, local healthcare provisions, and wider social care services – all of which are often close to breaking point.

Directly helping charitable causes by scrapping your car

Providing social value for charities and good causes

Scrapping your car might not feel like something that could make a life-saving change to a person’s life – or food for a child who might otherwise go to bed hungry – but when you do it with Car.co.uk, this is exactly the kind of work you’re helping to deliver.

Frequently asked questions

We know that recycling a Vauxhall isn’t something you’re likely to do every day – but since we do, we’ve prepared a few common queries to help.

Missing keys are not a problem. The scrap Vauxhall collection partners that we use are equipped to move vehicles that cannot be unlocked or started.

No, you don’t – but the law surrounding scrap metal collection does require someone over the age of 18 to be present when the car’s picked up. If you plan to nominate someone else, you’ll need to make sure they’ve got a form of photo ID with them – along with a proof of address if you cannot provide the V5C with the car.

An ATF is an ‘Authorised Treatment Facility’; the name that’s given to a scrap yard that has proved they meet with the strict regulation surrounding the handling of scrap materials. Only ATFs are able to carry out the full DVLA scrapping process – so these are the only scrap yards we work with.

Assuming you want to keep your private registration, you’ll need to officially remove it from the car before your collection day. Doing so is easily done – you’ll just need to use the DVLA’s number plate retention service. When complete, you’ll be able to reuse the number plate on another suitable vehicle.

Yes, you can. Since all of our partners have the means to move a vehicle that’s been involved in a serious accident, low tread, damaged, or flat tyres will not be a problem.

They are. As long as the car’s been accurately described when we issued our price, the amount that you were quoted is the amount that you’ll receive – no haggling required!
