Our customers love us!

They do what they say they do. Excellent.
I was contacted well in advance regarding the collection of my vehicle. Steve the driver phoned me and asked if he could collect sooner than booked. This was OK with me. When he arrived he was friendly and courteous and because of the advanced notification, gave me time to have everything ready for the handover. The money was transferred to my account within minutes. A great service and one that I would recommend to anyone wanting to dispose of a vehicle.

Highly recommend - 10/10 service
Whole process was really easy and completely fuss free from start to finish. Entered my postcode and registration online and was given a price straight away without having to sign up to anything. The price offered was better than anywhere else. Selected a date and time that suited me for collection and booked in a matter of minutes. Really clear information was given about the collection process via email. Collection day arrived and the guy who came was really friendly. Quick check of the car, loaded onto the truck and received the money within minutes. I would highly recommend this company as it was so easy, no hidden terms and conditions and an all round great experience.

Quick, easy, great service, decent price.
Organised it to be collected, driver (Tony) was in contact throughout the collection day to keep me posted. 10 minutes and I was paid and he was gone! Great service, Tony was very friendly and efficient. Definitely will use this service again in the future, been with WeBuyAnyCar a few times and for convenience, this blows them out of the water (all circumstantial of course). Couldn’t have asked for more, really helpful.

First class company
There's a very good reason why this company has such a high trust pilot rating, and it's not because of bots or ai fake reviews!! It's nice to leave a good review for a genuinely well run and professional outfit. Firstly , they offer the best price. Secondly , no sucking in of air or false advertising, put in reg, they give you a price, simple.... The pick up driver Shaun was very polite, concise and to the point. From begining to end a good experience, and a well deserved reputation.

Scrap Smart car statistics in the UK

bulb-icon

The average kerb weight of the Smart cars we’ve scrapped in the UK is 830 kilograms. As expected with especially small vehicles like Smart cars, this is the lightest average of all the vehicles we scrap.

bulb-icon

The average engine size of Smart cars we’ve scrapped in the UK is 698cc. Similarly to the average kerb weight, this is the lowest average of all the cars we scrap, because Smart cars are small vehicles.

bulb-icon

The oldest Smart car we’ve scrapped was a 25-year-old Fortwo. Taking your Smart car beyond 20 years takes a lot of care, but it’s certainly possible. That said, this is still on the younger end.

bulb-icon

The lowest-mileage Smart car we’ve handled was a Smart Forfour with 10,938 miles on it; it likely met an early end due to an accident or serious fault, rather than general depreciation.

Scrap your Smart car

Can I scrap my Smart car if it’s been sitting unused for months?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap your Smart car if it’s been unused for a while - many end up parked after a gearbox fault, electrical issue or MOT failure and never move again. That’s not a problem. As long as the car is accessible, we can collect it. It doesn't need to start, drive, or even have a working battery. Collection is still free with Car.co.uk, and payment is made once it’s picked up.

Will modifications or missing parts affect my Smart car scrap price?
Dropdown Icon

Modifications or missing parts can affect your scrap prices, but not always - Smart cars often arrive with missing trim, damaged panels or aftermarket parts fitted, but that’s fine. The quote mainly reflects weight, condition and salvageable components. If major parts like the engine or gearbox are missing, the price may change. Otherwise, light modifications or cosmetic damage rarely stop us from collecting.

Why do Smart car repair bills push people toward scrapping so often?
Dropdown Icon

The Smart car repair bills that often force people to scrap are gearbox actuators, clutches and electrical faults. These add up fast, especially once labour is factored in. When the repair cost creeps close to - or past - the car’s value, scrapping becomes the sensible option.

Do I need my logbook (V5C) to scrap a Smart car?
Dropdown Icon

You don’t always need your logbook to scrap a Smart - if the V5C logbook is missing, we can still usually proceed after confirming ownership and notifying the DVLA correctly. This happens more often than people think, especially with older Smart cars. We’ll guide you through what’s needed so you’re not left dealing with paperwork later.

Can I scrap a Smart car that’s still insured or taxed?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap your Smart even if it’s still taxed or insured. In fact, scrapping it properly allows you to cancel both. Once the car is collected and processed, the DVLA is notified and you can apply for a tax refund for any remaining months. Many people scrap first, then tidy up the admin after. We’ll make sure the process is done correctly.
