I’m planning to scrap my Mini, and I’d like to keep the private number plate. Can I do that?

Yes. You can do this by applying for a number plate retention certificate through the DVLA, either online or through the post. You will be able to transfer the registration to a different vehicle or an official Retention Document. You should make sure you have confirmation that this process is complete before the car is collected.
