Great service
I recently had my old car collected and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish, everything was handled smoothly and I was kept informed throughout the whole process. The driver, Roy, was excellent – really friendly, professional, and informative, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The payment was transferred instantly upon collection, which was a huge plus. Overall, a fantastic service and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to scrap their car.

Very easy transaction.
Very easy transaction. Easy to book, collection person phoned to say exactly what time they were arriving. I just left him to it and collection took around 10 mins including taking photos of my id and the car. Sad to see my car go as its been a really good car but too much wrong with it now. Payment was not immediate, took around an hour and a half. No fuss, no sweat, very easy.

Outstanding service A*****
The process was very straightforward, the vehicle was collected on the day agreed - I received a call when the driver was 30 minutes away. The driver 'Darren' was knowledgeable and a complete professional. All inspections carried out, documents sorted and on his pick up in under 30 minutes. The money was processed to my bank very shortly after. Will definitely recommend and would not hesitate using your company again.

Scrap your Mercedes FAQs

Can I scrap my Mercedes without the V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

You can still scrap your Mercedes without the V5C logbook, but you’ll need to prove you’re the keeper and make sure the details match the car. Car.co.uk will guide you through what’s needed, then you can notify DVLA properly so you don’t get chased for tax or tickets later. If you do have the logbook, great - bring it along.

Will you collect my Mercedes if parts are missing?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, we can still collect a Mercedes that’s missing parts - even if the catalytic converter’s gone. Just be upfront when you request the quote, because missing components can change the value. The key thing is avoiding surprises at pickup; that’s when prices get messy. If the car rolls and the steering isn’t locked solid, collection is usually straightforward, and it’s always free with Car.co.uk. Non-runners are fine too.

Do I get a Certificate of Destruction for my Mercedes, and does it matter?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can get a Certificate of Destruction after we’ve scrapped your Mercedes. This is your proof that the car is officially off the road and has been legally processed. Without that trail, you risk DVLA letters, tax confusion, or just awkward questions later. Fortunately, all of our yards offer CoD - some handle this digitally, others send it by post.

Can I scrap a Mercedes that’s still on finance?
Dropdown Icon

You cannot scrap a Mercedes that’s still on finance because the finance company technically owns it. This can cause complications later if you dispose of it. Best move: Check your agreement, call the lender, settle the balance, or get permission first. Once it’s cleared, you can get a free quote from Car.co.uk and book a collection like normal.

Can you collect my Mercedes from a garage or an awkward location?
Dropdown Icon

We can often collect your Mercedes from a garage, workplace car park, or even a tight street - as long as access is safe. If it’s stuck somewhere awkward (multi-storey, underground, gated), tell us early so we can plan the right vehicle and timing. That little heads-up prevents failed collections and delays in rebooking.
