Do I need to be present at the time of collection?

You don’t personally have to be with the vehicle, but we do need someone to be with the car when it’s collected – however, it doesn’t have to be the registered keeper or owner. If you can’t be with the car, we ask that your chosen representative can present a photo ID to show to our collection partner. If you cannot provide the V5C document at the collection, your representative will also need to show a utility bill that’s addressed to them and dated within the last 3 months.

Can I still scrap my Jaguar with flat tyres?

Yes, you can. Most of our collection partners can recover a car with flat tyres. If your car’s tyres are flat, please let us know when you request your quote, to ensure the collection partner has the correct equipment to recover the vehicle.

My insurance company have asked for a COD. What is that?

A Certificate of Destruction (COD) is issued by the DVLA and sent to the Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) that scraps your car. At Car.co.uk, all of our collection partners meet government ATF approval. Please let us know that you require a COD when we provide a quote, and our collection partner will send you a copy of your certificate when your car has been scrapped.

Can I change my mind after accepting your quote?

If you change your mind after accepting our quote, it’s important that you let us know as soon as possible. If you fail to tell us before our recovery partner arrives to collect your car, they may charge you for their visit.

How do you work out my scrap Jaguar’s worth?

The price of your vehicle is based on its weight and any elements recoverable for recycling. If the vehicle is being scrapped, any extras or modifications will not add to the price.

Can I get paid before you collect?
