When will my scrap car be collected?

After accepting the price we’ve found for your old or damaged vehicle, you’ll be shown a number of available collection times our partner has available. You’ll be able to pick one that’s right for you – and the scrap yard will get in touch to confirm the time and date directly or you will receive a confirmation email from our system.

What happens if there isn’t a suitable time?

We appreciate that people work around different schedules, so, if there’s no time slot that works for you, simply get in touch with the scrap yard that’s provided your quote, and they’ll be able to schedule a time that’s convenient. Some of the scrap yards we work with operate outside normal business hours too, so it’s sometimes possible to schedule weekend or evening collections – although this isn’t available for all dismantlers.

Will I need to talk to the scrap yard directly?

The scrap yard collection your car will usually get in touch to confirm the time that you’ve selected – and again to let you know they’re on their way. Don’t worry though; they’re only calling for your convenience; they’ll never get in touch to haggle over the price of your car.

At Car.co.uk, we’re proud to work with the best and most professional scrap yards & automotive partners in the car industry. Each of our partner dismantlers offers the highest level of customer service – and operates within the strict law surrounding scrap metal collection, as well as abiding by the service requirements that come with being a government authorised treatment facility.

If you do speak with one of our scrap partners directly, we’re confident that you’ll get friendly and professional service at all times.

What happens if my car is located somewhere else?

If our scrap partner is going to be collecting your car from a location that you need to travel to, simply let them know when they call to confirm your collection details. That way, they can call to let you know they’re on their way – giving you time to get to the car.

What if the collection driver is running late?

The scrap yards we work with will never double-book collection times – but, in some rare instances, delays can occur. If our scrap partner is running behind, they’ll get in touch with you and let you know, so you can plan your day accordingly.
