Very easy transaction.
Very easy transaction. Easy to book, collection person phoned to say exactly what time they were arriving. I just left him to it and collection took around 10 mins including taking photos of my id and the car. Sad to see my car go as its been a really good car but too much wrong with it now. Payment was not immediate, took around an hour and a half. No fuss, no sweat, very easy.

Highly recommended !!
Car.co.uk offered the best price by far out of all the sites I had got quotes from. The whole process was really easy to arrange and sort out a collection. I had a few enquiries and the different guys that I spoke to at customer enquiries was really friendly and helpful. I asked for an early/ first pick up and was told they would do their best. The night before I received a text asking if a 6:30am pick up would be possible. I agreed. Earlier the better for me. The morning of the pick up I had a call from the driver (John) who informed me he wasn’t far and sure enough he arrived on the agreed time. When he arrived he was so helpful and really friendly. The car was on the back of the lorry and paperwork sorted all within 15 mins. Can’t recommend these guys enough and I would definitely use again.

A Top-Tier Car Selling Experience
I just sold my car with Car.co.uk and I have to say, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I got an online quote, and everything went exactly as they said it would. The collection was scheduled at my house, which was super convenient. The driver was a true professional—they were not only efficient but also very kind. As soon as the car was collected, the payment landed in my bank account immediately, which was a fantastic surprise. I highly recommend Car.co.uk for anyone looking to sell their car without any hassle.

Highly recommend - 10/10 service
Whole process was really easy and completely fuss free from start to finish. Entered my postcode and registration online and was given a price straight away without having to sign up to anything. The price offered was better than anywhere else. Selected a date and time that suited me for collection and booked in a matter of minutes. Really clear information was given about the collection process via email. Collection day arrived and the guy who came was really friendly. Quick check of the car, loaded onto the truck and received the money within minutes. I would highly recommend this company as it was so easy, no hidden terms and conditions and an all round great experience.

Scrap my car in Didcot FAQs

How much is my scrap car worth in Didcot?
Dropdown Icon

The average price paid in Didcot for a scrap car is £260, although your final price depends on several factors, including the vehicle's weight, condition, make, model, and current scrap metal prices. For a live figure based on today's scrap car prices, get your quote in under 30 seconds, and we'll assess the best route for your vehicle.

Do I need to be present for the collection in Didcot?
Dropdown Icon

You don't have to be present for the collection of your scrap car in Didcot. You can nominate another adult aged 18 or over to meet the driver, and they'll need access to the vehicle plus the required paperwork, so the handover stays straightforward and collection can still go ahead without problems.

Can I scrap a car without a V5C logbook?
Dropdown Icon

Yes, you can scrap a car without a V5C logbook. You'll usually need photo ID, proof of address, and any supporting papers such as MOT certificates or service history.

Can I keep my private number plate before scrapping?
Dropdown Icon

You can keep your private number plate before scrapping, but you must complete the DVLA retention or transfer process first. Apply online through the DVLA website or by using a V317 form, and make sure the plate is removed before a Certificate of Destruction is issued.

How does scrap car payment work?
Dropdown Icon

Payment is made by bank transfer, not cash, as per the guidance set out in the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013. The quoted price is the price paid on collection, with no last-minute reductions.

What documents do I need to scrap my car in Didcot?
Dropdown Icon

You'll need your V5C logbook to scrap your car in Didcot, along with a photo ID and proof of address. If the log book is missing, you can still proceed in many cases, and we'll guide you on the paperwork needed before collection.

Will I receive a Certificate of Destruction?
Dropdown Icon

If you request one, we can issue a Certificate of Destruction within seven days of processing.

Can I scrap a car with outstanding finance?
Dropdown Icon

All outstanding finance must be settled first, or the finance company must give clear consent before the vehicle can be scrapped. Lenders keep a legal interest until the agreement ends, so the next step is to contact them for a settlement figure or written permission, and we'll help you understand what happens next.

Do I need to provide keys for my car?
Dropdown Icon

You don't need to provide keys for your car. Missing keys are common and won't prevent collection or change the quoted price, because the vehicle can still be loaded with specialist equipment.

What is the difference between scrapping and salvaging?
Dropdown Icon

Scrapping means the vehicle is dismantled and recycled mainly for its metal value under the ELV directive. Salvaging means the car still has enough worth to be sold as a whole vehicle or broken for usable parts, and car.co.uk assesses both options before choosing the outcome that returns the best value to the owner.
